Update January 2013
The Steering Group are in the final 'pre-publication' stages now and in the next few weeks a "Village Plan Summary" will be landing on doormats right across the Parish. That will also include information on how to view the full results. This will include online access or paper copy access at a number of locations around the village.
There will be an event at The Memorial Hall, probably mid-March, where the full plan can be viewed and information discussed, as well as the opportunity to get involved in some of the key actions and projects that the plan has identified. Please get involved so we can put as many plans into action as possible.
We have a huge amount of support for this plan and on January 31st we are meeting with key people at South Glos Council to ensure as much as possible is understood and incorporated into future decisions, across a number of departments.
If you have any questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Update October 2012
Having completed the household survey earlier in the year, and getting a tremendous response, the Business survey is now underway to enhance the feedback we can include in the final report which we hope to publish by the end of the year. If you run a business and are sent a survey please get it back as soon as possible so we can include your thoughts and ideas.
Some of the subjects and responses already provide valuable ammunition to support certain causes. For example the strength of response on Broadband issues has enabled us to lobby our councils and MP in order to get a higher priority for Charfield being upgraded to faster broadband speeds. Comments regarding the Village Hall & Playing Fields are ready to be passed to the Trustees of the Memorial Hall so they can understand the needs of the village in regard to the facilities provided. Following calls for a Cafe, a Coffee Lounge has been relaunched on Tuesday mornings in the Sportsmans Lounge and it is hoped to expand this to cover additional days if there is enough support.
So it won't be too long before all the results are published and available for everyone to see, and then more villagers can get involved in some of the Action Plans to improve life in Charfield.
Thanks to everyone for the input so far and especially to all the members of the Village Plan Steering Group who have maintained the enthusiasm for this project for well over a year now.
